About the MISS Foundation:
A Community Support Network. MISS is a nonprofit,volunteer based,501 (c) 3 corporation committed to helping families
heal from the trauma of a child's death, eventually empowering them to become volunters and to give back by helping others.
The MISS Foundation is committed to providing emergency support to families in crisis after the death of a child from
any cause. We are here to help families cope with the resultant feelings of overwhelming grief.
We are committed to public awareness to decrease infant mortality, bereavement intervention, support, and education.
No family should have to endure the trauma of a childs death alone. Our support network is available to help.
Our Community Support Programs:
MISS Interevention Team- 24 hour hotline
Support- Support groups, annual conferences, trainings, and volunteer opportunites for families. MISSing Angels newsletter
is sent at no charge.
Research-Support & funding for clinical & psychosocial research.
Baby's Breath- Healthy baby campaign helps distribute information on risk reduction programs to reduce infant mortality.
HOPE Mentorship Program- Helping Other Parents Endure- Mentors are available to provide telephone and/ or home visit
support.
Financial Assistance- When burial funds are available, we may be able to help.
The Kindness Project- We have distributed more than 500,000 cards. This project helps families heal by encouraging them
to participate in nonprofit, volunteer work within their community.
K>I>S>S> (kid In Sympathy & Support ) A peer group for bereaved children, website & camp for children
who have experienced death.
Website- Bilingual support and resources online.
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING - VARIOUS TOPICS AVAILABLE TO ASSIST PROFESSIONALS IN PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE
DEATH AND DYING DISCOURSE.
Community Outreach- Our volunteers deliver packets to funeral homes for families.
